a am an aprentice pr conselor and i do not know haw to evaluate the value of the strategy that i create for a client - fashion grup. we wil have media exposure(articles), tv apearence in tv morning show, direct mailing, catalog tu do, and a fashion show. I know very well the market of my country (Hungary)and the client is from outside(GREECE)

Actually, it depends on whether or not you are proposing to an EXISTING client or a POTENTIAL client. If you already have a contract with the client, then your fees should have already been determined. If you are proposing to become the pr representative counselor for the client, then it should be negotiated and included in the contract.

The value is whatever the client believes it is, while the cost is whatever you decide to charge.
I'm not sure if you are planning to charge for proposing a strategy, or if you are proposing to charge for executing the strategy (two very different things.
Where the client is from should not matter. If you work in Hungary, charge for your time according to the local market. The tough part will be estimating expenses for activities outside the area with which you are familiar. If the media work is to take place in Greece, a PR practitioner in Hungary would not be able to do it alone. So, if you're estimating costs, factor in what you think you'll have to pay a Greek firm to help with outreach to Greek media.

Generally, an agency charges a percentage of the PR costs. Once you know, or have a good idea of the costs, you set a percentage of the total cost for your fee. If the figure is not easily determined, then simply make the contract for a percentage of the total cost, to be added to the total. But you need regular payments during your work to cover costs and your own agency's fee to that point. |
