Take the items to the post office and have them weighed. If you are going to be selling alot, then buy your own postage scale.
Whatever the shipping is, people usually tack on an extra couple bucks for "handling". |

Use the postal calculator on line. just put in your dimensions, weight and a ZIP code and it will give you a price. Use a Zip that is on the other side of the country, then you should be covered. |

Buy you a digital scale. You can buy them cheap on eBay.
Then weigh what you are selling (in the packing box of course) and go to www. usps.com and figure out what the shipping cost will be.
You can use the shipping calculator that eBay provides as you are creating each listing if you know the packaged weight of your item. |

Well, first off, you can always just say in your ad that you will charge for shipping depending on where the buyer needs the item shipped. You can just go to ups.com or usps.com, etc. and get an estimate depending on the size, weight, and destination. If you want the buyer to know the exact price of shipping ahead of time, you can just go ahead and put your price in shipping field and then refer to the shipping details in your ad. So, in other words, what you have in the shipping field doesn't mean you are obligated to only charge that amount if specified otherwise in your add.(pretty sure) Play around with it a little and see what you can come up with. Also, look at other peoples ads and see if there is a good example. |

Selling on ebay can be time consuming at first. When you want to sell something ebay offers a nice walk through to set up an auction.
Take your pictures and download them to your computer. Resize them if you need to.
Get an envelope or box for your item and weigh the item with the packaging.
Then go on ebay and just take your time and follow the step by step instructions. It's really not hard, just time consuming. If you want a set price you can do it as a buy it now, as an auction you can put a reserve on the item and if the bids don't get to the reserve price you're not obligated to sell the item.
A paypal account definitely gets you more buyers.
Shipping can be set so that the buyer calculates it based on their zip code. So you would put in the weight of the item (and add a few ounces to cover the cost of the packaging), and they put in their zip code and the ebay calculator tells them what the shipping is.

Take the weight of your item and go to the post office and ask. You may be able to find out online as well at the www.usps.com.
If it fits in the flat rate box, you will pay $9.80. If that's the case, you can charge perhpas $15 for S/H. or simply charge the actual shipping. It will just take some research. |
