I work for an advertising agency and can tell you that advertising for tourism is extremely difficult. This is not to scare you but rather help you choose what ideas you should cover. If you can pick a spot to advertise - pick a spot with OBVIOUS BENEFITS. In other words, if you picked Florida - talk about the things that are somewhat unique to Florida - the beaches - the golf - Key West - Disneyland - etc. If you can not pick a spot - head to the nearest bookstore and get one of those travel guides for your location. The book should give you enough information so you can highlight certain benefits of your location. Good luck.

GIve some general ideas applicable to all classes and pick one or two classes as case-study(preferably pick one) and give specific details of the plans that these guys are employing and further add you own points

1. Cruise lines have been getting a bad rap lately (ref: illness and safety issues). I would assume that this has had a negative impact on their ticket sales. Find out how they're changing their advertising to address these issues and make people feel better about taking a cruise.
2. New Orleans has recently started advertising on TV to get people to come back to visit their city. There's several celebrities that have been included in the ads (I'm pretty sure they're volunteering their time free-of-charge). What is New Orleans doing to get their tourist trade back up and running? I was there over Mardi Gras and attendance was pitiful.
