I work for a small business, its not the sort where cold calling or leaflet distributing would be beneficial, I work for an architects we just want to get our busness known about for if the public need an architect in the future.

have entrants mcomplete a building requirements form (from your website),

You'll get a list of people who obviously want something designed. When you've decided on the winner (a small project) you announce the winner and contact all the others who didn't win and ask if you can get together and discuss their requirements. After all, you'll already know what they're planning wont you!

One piece of advice - if you were looking for an architct where would you look?

Try finding self build websites on the internet and advertising there.
See if your local council will let you advertise in their office thnat deals with planning permmission.

Alwas have an advert outside every building your company helped design - make it part of the contract when pressenting, sell it as a status symbol that your company designed that building.

1. Newspapers are most effective media to advertise. It has one day frequency and covers many miles and rightly approached your target customers. Just give one or two insertions in the two leading newspapers of your area and see the responce.
2. Must use yellow pages
3. Register yourself free on the sites of freelancers.
4. personally contact to the builders & contractors of your area.

hi! i would strongly recommend a very upmarket web page, everyone knows how to use the internet and its the first place people of today look when they looking for something. word of mouth, give your previous clients a call just to check up that they are happy and word of mouth is very powerful. post adverts on other web pages, like facebook, make posters and put them on notice boards, this always gets attention if they are bright and flashy, hope you come right.

Talk to your local builders first - its free. Give them loads of business cards. ( Give a small incentive for referrals Â£30 )
They like local architect companies they can rely and be familiar with their style.

Leafleting in my experience is of little use as often get binned.
Advertise in local paper - needs to be repetitive.

Advertise from your cars / vans.

Ask clubs, hospitals and local shops if you can put a flyer up on there notice board.

Find out who is in the planning dept at the council and introduce yourself.

Slowly but eventually you will get a lot of business by word of mouth.

Local church newsletter. This way you reach people of different ages and backgrounds.

The fact they read it on the church newsletter also gives a sort of seal of approval.
