How Can I Become a Major Business owner?
What college course do you take to become a business owner or start your own corporation? Anybody know what should I do to prepare while im in highschool

There was just a program on PBS channel TV last night about the very thing that you are inquiring about.
It described the various points of what it takes for a business/company to be able to rise to greatness.
South West Air, Starbucks, along with a few others were mentioned.
PBS is known for reruns- I would strongly reccomend looking out for it.

What you learn in college or school are all basic fundamental of what and how business is being operated i.e. simple stuff like demands and supply, Marketing which require 5 Ps - Product, promotion, process, placement, people, Human resources and etc.

This are all basic skills, however to become major business owner you need a few skills that you may learn in from schools or college i.e.
a) Stree Wise skills
b) Eye for business opportunities (you MUST be a number person)
c) Target market
d) Process knowledge
e) Negotiation and convincing skills.
f) Networking skills
all the above comes with experience and being at the right place at the right time.

Therefore to prepare yourself i would suggest reading up a lot of books and articles on business, latest market trend, what is the latest, what market are doing well and what are bad, take a part time job (especially on sales department - to build up your street wise skills, confidence and meanwhile a great opportunity to do networking).

Hope the above helps. Good luck to you.

Sorry man, I'll be straight:
your question sounds like "What kind of brushes should I buy to become Leonardo?".
No college course can make you a successful business owner. It can only help at some degree. I seriously doubt if you take The Top 100 of the richest guys on the planet you'll find that most of them took the college courses that refer to their actual business sphere.

Well first off what kind of business do you want to own? Some basic classes you will need are ones dealing with business computer science, accounting/finance, economics, at least two science classes(helps with analyzing things), and maybe geography is you want to expand your business internationally and of course you need to be skilled in at least one language and I recommend taking Spanish classes.

Also since your going to graduate soon go to http://www.petersons.com to search colleges that have business majors. Good luck!

A degree in any discipline can make you a business owner...

I know an accountant and a lawyer that team up together to form a company. Because they have to deal with money and investments, and also draft legal documents for the business ...

I also know some guys who studied engineering but now he's become a CEO. I guess engineers can learn to adapt and learn new things easily.

Be active in co-curricular activities, e.g. become president of a school club and get experience working with people, and organizing events while you are in college, it helps prepare you to become a leader.

If your goal is to become the head of an existing business, it's more important WHERE you go to school, than what you major in. Of course you need to learn economics, management skills, and critical thinking for any top position. An MBA, or a business law degree is probably your best bet. And you want to learn as much as you can about the specific business you want to run, which you're unlikely to do in school. But the most valuable thing you can pick up is contacts. Schools like USC, Yale, Georgetown, etc, are full of the people who will eventually run the world. Knowing them will do more for your carrer than any education you can get. A school like Berkeley, or BYU will give you just as good an education, but you won't come in contact with as many people who will be in a position to get you those top management jobs.

That said, your best chance to run a company is still to start your own. Find something that people want, and give it to them. Learn how to give it to them better, and cheaper, than anyone else, and you'll grow. Even if you don't get you own company to the size you'd like, the fact that you've run a successful company will greatly increase your chance of someone else letting you run theirs.
