To all the people who hate telemarketers. I hate your companys calling me at my office during the day to sell something I don't want. To all the people who work for company's that mail me credit card apps and ask me to switch banks stop littering my mailbox. To all the people who advertise on TV and waste my time in between shows stop it. To anybody that wants to feed their overweight body at supper then don't answer the phone. There's no law that says you have too. To people who work at company's that have a sign outside their company or use billboards. Your signage is unsightly please remove it.
To anyone that wants to get paid... why don't you go ask your own sales department... yeah the ones who make the money for your company that pays your sorry ***, and ask them what would happen if they couldn't advertise or use a phone.
To the person who asked this question do the best you can and understand that all your doing is another type of advertising. No company can survive without it. You're just trying to earn a living. I'd rather see you talking on a phone then ending up in a jail cell somewhere on my dime, since as sure as the sun will come up tomorrow, you will not allow yourself to starve to death and if that means stealing then you'd do it. Thanks for accepting a job that no one respects to be able to earn some money. |

Confidence. alot is to do with confidence in my opinion, i was a Telemarketer for a mortgage company for a few months and the one thing they kept installing into us was to be confident as so it came over to the other person on the phone, if we believe the product will work/is good, they will. but try not to get confidence and overconfidence /cockyness mixed up :) |

It is a really hard job. I don't know if it's possible. I get a lot of calls from telemarketers. It's annoying because they want to keep you on the phone as long as possible. It's not my job to talk to them most of my day. I think being sensitive to the needs of the people you speak with. If they ask you to email them information then do so and ask them to call you if they are interested. I know that I will if there is a need. But the people that keep calling me, I do remember and will not call them if I have a need. I prefer email. It's less interrupting. |
