I have a large catalogue of books, so I would like to create a search engine for a website, sort of google-like search, with a field where the reader puts the author name, title or keyword and then the results as well as the llink of the book are shown below.
Is this too complicated? can I do this with frontpage?

The way it works is like this.
Google will give you the HTML code to place on your Web page and you are given the option to either search the entire web or search locally on your Web page.

Yes.. it can be complicated...
But if you have a good technical team then you could develop one...
However more importantly worry about copyright issues about scanning and transporting part or full transcripts into electronic format...

It's a little complicated. In order to do this, you are going to need a database. You can use any database. For instance, access, mysql, and mssql are all suitable databases for this. Once you have the database, you will need to populate the database with the books. Once the database is ready to go, you will then be ready to query the database by author, title, anything you want. |
