I printed up a bunch of free business cards on vistaprint.com and basically passed out my biz cards myself, I gave bunch to others I knew and left several almost everywhere I went. Convenient store counters, grocery stores bulletin boards, post office counters, lobby's of hosipitals, hotels, friends I know in the school district, restaurants, you name it. Even when I'm standing in line sometimes when engaged in a conversation with a stranger I'd give them one of my cards. It's a lot of leg work and unless you have some really good connections like one of my friends whose a courier and he just hand deliver them to clients they have, it can take some time for the business to start running. it is up to you and your local board of commerce. You need a license to solicit in many municipalities (door to door, fliers, putting up a stand, etc.) If you have the funds and the appropriate paperwork, this license is fairly easy and inexpensive to get.
Local radio: if you are able to get in with a local radio station (one which would promote your site while your site promotes them) you would have a lot of free air time and publicity...I had a radio show whilst in college and our station thrived on this type of advertisement...whatever we could get our names on...we did.
local clubs or business establishments that would promote you or even let you hang a sign in their window...
The world is yours...you have to ask and be prepared to be told no...because you'll hear that more than yes.
Good luck...and no...your shameless ploy on "answers" to promote your personal site did not go unnoticed. |

offline marketing is good but it keeps you allocated to that one spot. but if you want to market to your area then, posting ADs, flyers, and giving special promotions, every time an order comes in, throw in a business card into the package. Certain food stores has fish bowls or bulletins which you can post your business |
