So, you are at a beach and you write peoples names in the sand and take pictures?
What you need to do is create hype. You need a famous endorsor or botch your numbers so it looks like EVERYONE has them. Get people to jump on the bandwagon.
Also, advertise in methods other than the internet. Hook yourself up with people who live in colder areas or areas without beaches. People in these places will want them sandnames.
Offer some sort of deal. Like, SALE! 2 FOR 1!! Limited time offer!

I don't know how you are creating interest for this on Craigslist, but, to be frank, your website leaves me a bit disappointed. All I see are names written in the sand with nice frames around the images. There is no marketing message that tells me why I should buy one of them.
I think you have an opportunity to be successful with these. The idea is somewhat romantic, and I could see how some people might possibly be interested in one. But you can't just throw up a photo on a website and expect people to come flocking to you. You have to build a mystique for the product/service. There is none of that on your website.

I can go and do what you do somewhere on the internet AND for free. I say try to make your product more interesting than it is right now. Come up with more creative things, not just plain old ideas like T-shirts and frames. Try to advertise more, but I suggest you try to improve your product because it's not WOW and it certainly won't make me order. |

That is a pretty neat concept. Craigslist won't get you much business, in my opinion. I'd either try ebay, or even buy advertising from google, like the sidebars that come up with the search results. |

Try a stronger marketing approach. Get your product listed elsewhere, magazines and such things. This looks perfect for a home improvement magazine, or something like Skymall. Aim big, but expect to pay a bit of money for these things, you can't make money without spending it.
Also, being in sales myself we have a saying: "Make everyone a follower of your product". No matter who it is, make them want one of your products, even if they already have one. If they have one and like it, make them like it more. The more they like it the more they'll talk about it and the more people they tell. In essence, make your customers your sales force, there's no marketing channel greater than word of mouth. |
