Cool idea! I would think that you could also ask to demonstrate your product to the classes, and then hand out individual flyers to the kids to take home...kind of like they use to give us for books. That or go to district office and offer free kits to the science teachers (along with flyers to hand out to the kids) and they may be able to mass-market for you. Good luck...your product sounds like a winner to me! |

I know the teachers in the Irving, Texas ISD have alot to do with what is purchased for the schools. Talk to the teachers they will let you know. The kids and Teachers at Farine Elementary are still just wild about Harry Potter. AS a matter of fact. Some of the teachers in the past have used the Harry Potter books for teaching reading, writing and math. E-Mail for more specifics on which teachers I know will love this |

As a retailer of the past I can possibly help you. I found that by going to the source itself and making my presentation is the best way. Not many will take the time to read mailed advertisers anymore so take it to them. Go talk to the principal or ask if you can leave some material in the teachers lounge. Then by leaving one free set for a class to use will generate an interest . One teacher will use it and another will see what she has and be interested and then want one too. Just make sure that you leave enough material with your phone # and a way to contact you in each school. You'll be surprised how many will contact you. Teachers see others using certain materials and they want it too. I know from experience. If no one contacts you within a few weeks go back and do it again, however do not leave a free set this time. Just leave the reading material with your contact info on it. It will work. But go to all the schools you can in your area. I have found that Harry Potter has generated the interest of all age students from elementary to high school. Good luck |

You need to get a license, permission and inform the school before selling anything to the students there. What I would do is rather give a permission forms to the school so students can get it signed by their parents to buy your product. |

i agree with what everyone else already said, you would need to find out who does the purchasing for the schools and present to them. I personally don't carer for Harry Potter for my child, but my sister loves the books and does home schooling, could you email info. Each school distric have a school board meeting like once a month. See if you can get some time at a school board meeting to pitch your kits. One big thing you need to do is show how your science kits will fit into that state's standards of teaching and their curriclum. Visit the state's depeartment of education website and they generally post the standards of education. For example here are the Ohio Academic Content standards for science. Each state might call them something different.

The big thing you need to show is how it relates to their standards and how your program will be an assest to a classroom. Another thing you should offer is give each grade an age appropriate kit for them to try out for free to see how they like it. You can leave order forms behind and stuff. Schools would be more willing to buy your kit if they have had a chance to try them out.
Also I suggest going to teacher oriented stores like Holcomb's and see if they would sell them in their stores or any other teacher oriented stores. Also contact Scholastic books and see if you can sell kits for them.

Call school and ask who does purchasing. You have what they call a purchase order....Do a demo to the purchasing head and hopefully the item will sell. Also look into your special ed at the administrative building...Good luck |
