Steps in more detail:

Step 1 Get a domain name.
For example, www.yahoo.com. To do this, I recommend going to www.worldshield.net.

Step 2 Build a website
If you want to code your own site, then use something like Microsoft's FrontPage.

Step 3 Find a hosting company
I would recommend http://www.worldshield.net. They have some of the cheapest, yet most reliable servers I have seen. Their basic site is $1.45 per month (if you know how to create a site). OR if you do not want to write your own code, you can use their "Website Builder", which starts at $1.95 per month (but I recommend the $4.95 per month package).

Step 4 Upload your web pages
If you created your own site, a company like www.worldshield.net will send you all of the instructions needed to upload your pages. You'll probably need an FTP client (try WS_FTP from www.download.com).

If you're using their Website Builder, then you do not have to upload anything.

what u can do is use geocities for free, or myspace for free (many people and businesses use this option. Or you can buy a domain name at godaddy.com and get a plain .com or biz. or net. or what ever you want for 8.95 a year.
