I agree with the first person. The do not call list. However, it will not stop calls from any company that you have done business with or collection calls.
The only way to make those stop is to tell the company when they call to remove you from their call list. For collection calls, tell them you do not wish to be contacted by telephone again.And also send them a certified letter telling them the same thing.
After that if you still recieve calls from one of those companies you can report them and they could be fined. I think there is more information on the donotcall site.

In my state (Tennessee) you can register your phone # on the "Do Not Call" list. See if your state has a registry through the web. They have one for your cell # too. |

No call list. Cuts down on a lot and those who do call anyway give up quickly when you ask about it. |

Use the Seinfeld approach: tell them you are busy and tell them if they leave their number, you will call them back later. Watch and see how many are willing to do this. |

If you were not aware on November 10, 2005 (USMC Birthday) cell phone numbers were released to telemarketing companies.
To block your number call 888-382-1222 from your cell phone. If you have a company phone please call from the company phone to block the number from telemarketers |
