There is alot involved in creating your own website when just starting out. One of the best places you can go to is www.NVU.com. It's free program you can download to create, design and upload your website. You don't need to know html do use it. It's WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) software that let's you easily create your site and it rates right up there with Dreamweaver.
If you will be advertising your site, there is alot you will need to know about optimizing your site for search engines and other forms of advertising. You also need to get your own domain, webhosting, and learn how to upload the site ( your ftp files).

well make ur wesite from DHTML or HTML ....u may use Adobe dreamweaver and use the server site scripting if needed and reserve some space on some server and then upload ur site there ....

It depends what kind of site that you want and the experience that you have regarding web design and writting scripts etc. Try Joomla @ joomla.com a content management software. It is for free and some add ons and extentions are for free. You might want to get a book that will teach you the basics. I got one for £30. Most websites are made from joomla or wordpress like bbc.com, timesonline, blogs. etc.
or you could use dreamweaver, if you get a book that illustrates how to use dreamweaver, you will be making professional sites in no time. it is easier to use than joomla and there is plenty of free templates to download out there for both joomla and dreamweaver.

Before starting your web site design make sure analyse your keywords first. Once you've done it design your web site based on your keyphrases. you can use google keywords for finding the best phrases. Make sure you are using the phrases with lower competition and higher search volume.
For designing the web site its better if you hire a web designer as they got more experience than you. If you want to do it yourself use dreamweaver but remember to design it based on W3 Standard.
