get involved in the community. community events like immunizations, health screenings, pharmacies, services for the elderly, so people will come to recognize you as a kind humble doctor who wants to help. coupons, gift certificate incentives. discounts on the first visit. advertise in a pharmacy. collaborate with a local pharmacy on prescription refills, etc. |

Ok, since you've asked this question in about five other categories maybe you're not kidding. First of all, if this is your attitude about people and life in general then it's no wonder no one is coming to your clinic! Lose this opinion you have about people only respecting arrogant people. It's simply not true. However, DRESS FOR SUCCESS. You say you're a simple man. If you're a doctor and you dress like a slob and don't groom properly, people aren't going to come to you. And, yes, you should advertise. How else will people know that you're available? You might want to extend your hours or open your clinic in the evenings and on weekends when most of us need to see someone but we have to wait for the ol' regular M-F business hours. Also, provide a confidential 'satisfaction survey' available and ask patients to fill it out. Find out what they like about you and your clinic, and what they don't like. That should help you make adjustments in how you provide patient care. |

1'st you can't MAKE anyone come to your clinic
however if you give the people what they want, then the will want to come to your clinic VOLUNTARILY
What will entice them to want to come to your clinic:
tricky question so I am going to give you an answer without giving you the answer
conduct a survey of people in the neighbourhood of the tings that they look for in a clinic
maybe they want a snazzy office, maybe they don't care what it looks like
maybe they want fast service (my doctor only gives my 5 min., if I need more time, he tells me to rebook another appt)
maybe they want late night or weekend hours
maybe they want a pharmacy or xray in the same building for convenience
maybe they want free parking
these are just a few things to consider, but again the best people to ask are the ones in the immediate area where you are/will locate(d) |

You really dont have to worry for your personal traits .Being humble can be an added advantage for a doc.Dont give up.You have to go for indirect marketing.Improve your PR.Also,you can go for local advertising through different mediums and its very cheap[ads on cable tv,leaflets in newspapers etc.] |

Show people that you care for others and volunteer some free help. The image of a caring person soon spreads, and people will seek you other. But you must live too and earn money so don't be too generous...make your fees low to begin and after, you must increase them slowly to normal levels. Maintain the best quality you can and keep the clinic very clean. Don't be afraid to do the cleaning yourself, it shows your character to be seen as a hard-working person. Above all, don't develop that stupid attitude that you know everything...I am a physician too. |
