Remember the customers can become repeat customers, can tell others about you, and can leave positive feedback so take good care of your customers.
Be sure your product is selling on eBay for more than enough for you to make a profit. Remember the price will decline when you add your stuff because you would have increased the supply and thus reduced the number of buyers per item. For example, say you want to sell wedding dresses and normally there are 7 wedding dresses on eBay, with 1 selling every day with 8 bids from 4 individuals for a final price of $1000. Let's say you were going to add a dress a day because you can make a lot of money selling wedding dresses for $1000. Suddenly you realize you are only averaging 4 bids from 2 individuals for a final price of $500. That is because that same number of bidders is now spread out over twice as many dresses and with less competition, the bids are not going to be as high.
Offer a reasonable amount for shipping and handling, especially for multiple purchases which gives them a discount and increases your sales.
Study similar pages and make sure you cover all the rules such as your exchange policy and how many days you can wait for multiple purchases to be combined.
Shop around for your best prices on products, shipping containers, and shipping services.
Ship within 24 hours after your sales are paid for.
Provide feedback to your buyers after shipping. |

Make sure your items are in good condition, provide detailed photographs of what you are selling, ship on time (it gets you good reviews, so more people will trust buying from you) and give lots of details (including anything wrong with what you're selling) It makes buyers feel much more comfortable. |

A really good picture.....I look at the picture. and do not make a low price for what you are selling and try to make the shipping price ridiculous.....I hate when people do that. I know it does not cost $29.99 to ship a tee shirt. |

Write a descriptive headline. Start and end your auctions on a weekend. Make sure you have your stuff in the correct category. Start your item at a price that makes you a tiny profit; if it's worth more, people will bid it up, and if it isn't, you will get rid of it anyway. Don't add a lot of handling to your shipping. Write a description which includes all the dimensions of your item. When you write your description, tell all the good stuff first, then the flaws, and mention whether or not the flaws are really noticeable, or if they are, why the person should buy it anyway. Make sure pictures are clear, with a solid color background.

You have to think about it from the buyers' point of view.. In what condition are you willing to buy something? What is the most you would pay for something? Do you actually need this or is it a want?.... That's how I think about things as a buyer and seller on EBay.. When selling, I try to make my descriptions and pictures as detailed as possible. I know I wouldn't buy something if the picture doesn't show how it really looks. Also when selling I give myself a price range. If I paid $20 for the item and I'm selling it brand new.. I would start the auction @ $30.. especially if it is something that people are going to need... if it's not a 'Big Buy Item" then I'd probably start it at $20 and hope to make some profit from the sale. A big thing I have a problem with as a buyer is shipping costs. When I'm selling items I use the lowest shipping cost possible and offer insurance as a way for the bidder to feel more confident in their buy. I hate when people sell an item for $1 and charge $10 to ship it. That really sucks and it discourages me from making the purchase. So I would advise to use reasonable shipping rates. And ship the item out in a reasonable amount of time.. nobody wants to wait weeks to recieve their purchase.. we're anxious when we win an auction and want the item ASAP.. so it's up to the seller to make this happen. Remember to use good customer service skills such as responding to messages and emails in adequate timing and keep in good contact with the winner of the auction. Since you're rated by the winner of your auction it's best to try to be as customer oriented as possible because future buyers will see this information and it could make or break a sale for you.
