You may find it annoying, but that's how you get free view on most of the website. So, either pay to view sites like yahoo.com or suck it up and deal with the ads. Not to mention, you probably clicked on ads before and bought some stuff before at least once? So, they are not all that annoying. As far as pay per click ads (CPC), there are also CPM ( paid by impressions ) and CPA ( paid by action) ads. Advertisers get to pick depending on what they are looking for. I am not sure what you mean by "get a free one", but only 10-20% of ads you are seeing is actually pay per click ads... |

You would have to be more specific about the type of page you want to market. There would be different stategies for different pages.
Generally, networking and lead building is a good bet.

There is also link trading, but that has limited effectiveness as a rule.
Some people, I have heard use myspace and similar types of pages to help their advertising along, but there is a limit to what you are allowed to do without violating their TOS.

As someone mentioned before, you can get some backlinks to your site, so you can get more exposure online. You need to backlink from relevant pages. You can use free article writing methods to send traffic to your site. You can blog about your site and link back to your site but in that case you need to link your blog as well.
This all requires keyword research and optimization of your pages.
