My experiences lately have been horrifying - reps that can't look at my accounts. Fast, shoddy work to get deliveries in before prices go down. And always, ALWAYS! inept, discourteous reps that can't help.
No wonder the economy is tanking. Am I alone in experiencing this? |

It's called a lack of professionalism. It runs through our society like the "black death". No one wants to be responsible for anything. Government workers are the worse. Only two days ago I once again had to go head to head with the country clerks office for a very minor change on one of my property deeds. It was like pulling teeth. I finally had to go to my attorney to get the situation resolved. Instead of it being done through the township, which is paid through my tax dollars, I now have to spend an unnecessary amount through my attorney. Although I don't think she will charge me considering what happened. Nevertheless, it's insane!
I'm not kidding about leaving the country. Now with the bleeding heart liberals in control I'm afraid they will eventually give away the store anyway! |

OMG. I so agree. It used to be that "the customer is always right." Those days are long gone. I hate it. Some of the contributing factors to this are:
1) Underpaid employees
2) The rampant decline of education in this country. This generation is not hitting the books.
3) The unruly influx of illegal aliens; whom are not even able to read-and-write in their native tongue. They are good people. But Mexico and other Countries are sending us their dregs. We should empty our prisons to them in return (and save us $$$).
4) Greed.
5) Lack of Americans to pull together and Boycott shoddy business practices.
6) Outsourcing. There is nothing like trying to get customer service from other countries (relates to greed). Personally I refuse to do business with any of them.
What if you and I start a website? Let's call it www.boycott.com. I'll buy the domain name and write the website. I've had it too. Your question gets a star (if I can figure out how to apply one).

You are not alone in experiencing this. It's been going on for years and getting worse by the year. The government and media keep telling us we are a service economy. If what we're getting is service, we are
in deep doo doo.
You could foresee trouble ahead months ago. When you go into a department store and have to run around the whole store looking for someone to pay, it shows how many people have lost their jobs.
When I find a store with helpful service people I go back to that store. Maybe with hard times people will try a little harder to do their work and retain their jobs. |

My x girl friend works in taking orders for Amazon in Grand Forks ND. She was always complimented over and over again for what a great job she did working with customers on the phone. There is a reason national corps who seek pleasant, patient and reliable workers hire from the midwest... most were taught manners from their parents and it filters it's way down to the youth. HOWEVER, even in this region, I to have experienced what you are talking about ..and it is truly frustrating. |

You're going in with the wrong attitude. I expect poor service and incompetence at every level of Customer Service. That way I a pleased when I get adequate treatment and my needs met. I don't know if I've been lucky or if my expectations are just that low now |

Agreed, and it is not just retail or banks . it is also the government offices.
I had called the unemployment office for 4 days trying to get through, but no reply. When I did finally get through I was treated and talk down to like I was a 2 year old. I did not like that. and I know others who don't .
That is my reason why I treat all my customers with respect and give them 150% every-time. I treat the customer like they are my grandparent's . That is my job to help the customer to make them happy. All my customers had wanted to take me home.
Some employers' do like that kind of customer service I had found out just recently. They just want the customer to get in and out. |

It is a dying art. I moved from the North to the South, and I have found that employees are more courteous and helpful down here. Perhaps you should consider moving, there are fewer liberals down here too! |

I seldom find good service or help. The smaller companies do a better job, but the larger ones...they take their customers for granted. And the monopolies are worst - like cable & phone. Horrible. |
