How do I get more traffice to my site?

I am doing ebay, myspace, google and yahoo ads, blogging, foruming. I need to get more people to see my site. I am considering one of those marketing firms that show your site to 500,000 people for $9.99. What do you think?

I am looking for a real answer. I am trying to advertise but not to the people in this section of yahoo anwers. I would post this in the food and drink section of yahoo answers. If anyone has any good advice.. or real advice it would be much appreciated.

first, you need top 'optimised' your site, as mentioned before. this will bring huge 'SEO' benefit to you. then only you can start looking for traffic.

traffic is all matters in internet marketing, and it has no one solution will resolve this issue. i myself continuously building backlinks to my site (directory, blogs, forum) to increase my popularity in the eye of serach engine. then, you can seriously consider article marketing, as it is the best traffic source other than SEM. but most importantly, continuously create insighful content that make your visitors leave no choice but continuously visiting your site (and telling other people abt your site too). it takes A LOT OF EFFORT, but trust me, you'll reap huge benfit at the end of the day.

abt the traffic u r tallking abt, you can try it, but as i tried before, it brings no value to my site (almost no sale at all).

i have seen your website & it is nice. your site is listed in alexa rank & being indexing by Yahoo! search engine but only create few unique backlinks. your home page not optimize well like. to get traffic, you must start from the basic. create unique backlinks to your site. there are more than 100 search engines & more than 1000 web directory to submit your link for free. although this way is slow but finally day by day you will see the traffic come from nowhere. come to my site & submit your link for free in Search Engine & Web Directory navigation. this page updated every weeks. after that if you still want to try to get instant traffic, then i suggest pay per click advertising like Google AdWords, Yahoo! Search Marketing, Microsoft AdCenter & many more. just bid the lowest cost per click & set how much you can afford per day & pay per month just for how much visitor click your ads.

How about trying some Adwords? Or just social bookmarking if you like?

i have just want to give one comment. since you have done a lot of advertising i believe your site have been seen by a lot of visitors. and your alexa ranking tell you something about it. your site is mainly on selling custom made products. how successful your biz is determined by the conversion rates and the monthly cost.so i guess you should know by know whether you are doing the right thing to continue promoting this site. your site do look good but it only contribute small percentage of any success. there is more to it. evaluate the conversion rate carefully cause if you don't you will be wasting your time promoting site that look good but not profitable. time also has value so use it wisely. good luck and wish you success.

I think you got a cool site.......You get more traffic to your website by posting videos along with your web address at YouTube, Metacafe, or Myspace....That's what I've heard from people that got more traffic to their sites. And that's what I'm gonna do when I build my site soon.

While your current <title> metatag is not location specific, i.e., city, state country, your <description> metatag is too short and the <keywords> metatag contains excessive number of entries. The following article may prove helpful to you in streamlining your SEO metatags in order to attract more Net traffic by higher search engine placement.

The most effective way to advertise on the Internet is
to first set up a website and publish its domain name
on major search directories such as Google.com,

Avoid use of frames since any number of search robots
are unable to properly classify textual material.

Placement of Metatags:

A ranking or search order does take place with Google
and Yahoo and it begins with the "Title" metag which
should consist of no more than 60 characters separated
by commas. The "Title" should describe in generic terms, the goods and services, followed by a location from which the resource is located, i.e., city, state. The placement of a domain name which is not generic within the "Title" is not appropriate, unless your
domain name is a major recognizable brand name.

The second metatag is the "Description" which is
usually up to 41 words to form a complete paragraph which
best describes one's goods and services. It is not merely a list.

And the very last category - "Keywords" are also
somewhat limited to 15 words which can be plural
and compound in nature. Again, avoid multiple entries
which could be mistaken as "spamdexed entries" which
is defined as the loading, and submission of
repetitive words into a particular metatag category.
"Spamdexing" when discovered on a webpage and reported
to Google's spamreport.com can result in the
elimination of your website from their search
directory.

Here's an example of a very highly-placed website on
Google.com: Begin with the very "generic" search query
"sandwiches downtown los angeles," taking note to not
abbreviate Los Angeles to "LA" and of course, leave
out the parentheses ("). It will bring up some 2.4
million+ search results. Check out where "Nazos.net"
is ranked. It's on the SECOND FRONT [ranked 15]!
Again, Nazos.net's high web presence was achieved by
proper web design and placement of relevant metatags
according to Google's publication guidelines.
