I actually already posted my answer before I took a look at your site, so this is an edit, before you follow the steps I have in the source, you will need to first do some on-site SEO. You need to trim down your keywords, (you have some words in there that you will never rank for in a search) and you need to make use of the title tag (your homepage title should be your main keyword phrase choice, and never just the word, Home)
All too often I have seen people put together some very impressive sites with a ton of information, as your is, but as a result of not doing the on-site SEO first and just submitting to directories and search engines as soon as they have something up, they are never found in search results and are not sure why. As an example, in your case one of your keywords is kitchen, but your site focuses on eating disorders, you will not rank for kitchen, a site that focuses on kitchens will rank in a search. Once you tighten the on-site factors, then focus on the off-site factors. (Under the first source I have included a link to an on-site free seo report that I will offer you)

Thank you for raising awareness to eating disorders.
You can get a "webpage" indexed pretty quickly without paying a dime.
The easiest and quickest is to get a link (with your main keywords in the anchor text) to some other website that gets crawled frequently.
For instance, here's an example of a properly formatted URL with keywords in the anchor text:
<a href="http://www.fixmyuglycredit.com">Cr... Repair | Free Credit Repair</a>
**Do you see "Credit Repair | Free Credit Repair"? This is called anchor text. It has my keywords for which I want my webpage to come up when people search those words.
Keep in mind, searchers will not find your site by using your web address. They will find you by the keywords you use on your title tag, H1 header tags & keywords appearing on the webpage. That is, "eating disorder" will be a competitive keyword phrase but "eating disorder teenagers" (for instance) will be less competitive.
Find a blog (preferably related to your topic) and post a relevant comment and then add your fully resolved URL. The spiders crawl high-traffic blogs and you'll get your page indexed quickly. Depending on your linking structure, the spiders will crawl your remaining pages.
Another suggestion is to contact a friend with a site indexed and ask to post an article you write (with the fully resolved url) on his/her site or simply put your link on their site (perhaps among the links in the footer).
If you have an education site, contact the .org webmasters of topically-related sites for help as well.

You don't need to submit or use submission search engine tools, just start using social bookmarks.
Write a few articles and have your site link in the article, submit it to ezinearticles.com first then to other article sites.
Create a squidoo.com lens eating disorder awareness have links to your website on that page, also create a hub at hubpages.com
Google also loves blogs, create a blog try create a small post everyday, even if it's just a video post, you can post one in under a minute once you know how.
What ever you do DONT pay to get your site indexed, also if you use submission tools to often this can hurt your site. |

To be honest you will pay big bucks through getting your clicks listed on the big names. Especially as you will be paying per click. This means that someone clicks on your site and you pay. They may go in there by accident or on purpose and you pay. You need to try to find a way to get qualified hits, which means, the people you really want to get to your site get there. Try to get your site into the press, or co-operative links with other people. Offer to write a letter for someone or an article with your topic in and your URL. Try to go on sites related to your cause and try to work with them too.
Do you have a hosting service? If so, they should be able to direct you to other search engine options. What you should do, is go onto the editing part of your site and put in words for searching under Meta Tags. You put in words that someone would put in for a search, as many as possible and as many variations. The best way to get traffic to your site is to get qualified hits, otherwise you won't beleive your bill. |
