Technically, things are coppywritten once they are committed to paper. What you may want to do is register your intellectual property with the US Copyright Office. Go to www.copytight.gov for details on filing specific to what you want to do.
For a slogan, what you really may want is a trademark. That gets filed with the US Patent Office. Go to www.uspto.gov to get the details on searching and filing for a trademark. Trademark filing is not necessarily cheap, but it would be your best protection. |

The cheapest, but also old fashioned way to copyright music, slogans, etc. Was to send a letter in the mail that has your slogan in the letter, address it to yourself, and then send it off. Then when it returns, do not open it, for you have the federal postal service stamp on it, & that will do enough. Then if you have any legal issues w/ the slogan, you show the judge the letter you mailed to youself, that is copyrighted. |
