If you are wanting to create a site yourself, there are a few things you need to know:
1. If you use a template builder, such as yahoo sites, be prepared for little customizing capabilities. They look good but you can't change them up much.
2. You can build the site yourself, from scratch with frontpage or word, but they will not appear the same in all browsers, such as explorer and firefox.
3. I totally recommend dreamweaver, but it's not a program you can learn to use in a day.
4. You can learn straight HTML code and code the hard way, but, again, I recommend dreamweaver if you aren't the code savvy type.

Hi,
in order to get a website together, you need to use either automated tools for creating it, or use an html editor to do it (if you are familiar to it).
Then, you need to publish it in the Internet, setting it in a server that gives you that service. A good recommendation is to get your own domain name, that is the web address for your site.
