The best way to make money in property is to buy a property, do it up and then sell it at a profit. That is, property development.
There are loads of programmes on the telly about this.

You are not ready to do this until you have done your research on the business. Fortunately there are plenty of competitors out there that you can copy. Just do what they are doing. Every estate agent has a website & almost all use RIghtmove. The fact that you ask wuch a basis question means to me that you are long long way from where you need to be. Stop dreaming. Get real with some facts. |

well first of all you will need to obtain your real estate license. Once you have your license then you can join a real estate team or broker. The real estate office more than likely has an ad program in place. If you will be in business as your own broker/agent, I would strongly recommend that you start small with fliers,business cards & a good size newspaper ad. Best of luck in your new career! |

Being an estate agent is NOT the way to make money in property. Even if you make a niche for yourself in an incredibly competitive market...you are subject to highly variable market conditions that only the big boys can survive when it comes to a slump.
The best way to make money from property is to deal directly in property. You buy property as cheap as possible...make it rentable as soon as possible and use every penny from every source to buy more property. You take huge risks...you never ever take a day off...you learn more about the property market than any 'fly by night' estate agent will ever know, and you plan 20 years ahead at all times.

There are several ways to make money in the property market. one you can speculate on buying land in a growing city. as the city grows toward your property it increases in value. also you can buy property on tax sale you get the property for a fraction of the price and then can turn around and sell it to an individual or back to the bank. also you can take the tax sale property and turn it into rental property then take a equity loan out to buy more property. The best thing that you can do is flip houses. |

You buy low, and sell high.
Or you become a landlord, and rent property that you own. Both have the potential to make money. If you go the landlord route, be prepared to have people damage your property, be late with payments, and give you all sorts of sob stories about why they can't pay you on time. It's part of the territory, and part of the job. |

The market seems to be moving away from estate agents per se. The internet is where it's starting to happen. Sellers selling for themselves. Sellers don't want to pay the 1% or 2% commission for what they perceive as 'nothing' or 'not much' from an estate agent. |
