Hi! I have started a new web based magazine for women ages 21-41 and I would like to know how to attract more interesting content/writers as well as more site visitors. So far I have used Craigslist to search for volunteers to help write some articles, and got a nasty email from someone claiming I was the scum of the earth (amongst other horrid things that I cannot repeat) for not wanting to pay. The thing is, I have been unemployed for months (military spouse), so I don't have the $ to pay writers now, but I make sure that people know I am more than happy to put a free plug of their business at the end of an article. My heart is in the right place as the purpose of the site is to infrom and help other women.

Once I get a job and some money to spare I will be more than happy to offer people something for good work- I know you have to pay for quality. But until I get to that point, what can I do?

I have been trying to promote the site on Craigslist too (I know not the best place, but it's free) and it has been difficult to attract new users there.

What are some ways I can attract fresh new content for the magazine and get people excited about it enough to pay us a visit. So far I have been writing the content myself or using on line article sites for content. A couple of other bloggers have made contributions as well.
