Actually, with todays search engines, the top 30 that actually count, they will find your web site on their own. You do not need to submit. Google actually prefers to find you without submitting. But no matter what, do not use the free submit programs or even those that charge to submit you to 1000 engines. They will net you nothing but spam. If you want to hand submit, just go to those engines and submit the site. They will ask you to add a verification code so they know you are a human (thus, those free submits etc do not work) Be sure you have a sitemap showing all your web page links and a robot txt page so engines know they can crawl the site
The engines can index any type of site, bit if you need to achieve top rankings so you can be found...well that is a totally different story and if your site is not SEO ready, it will be indexed but will not be found at the top of the engines |

There are several free submissin sites that you can use. If you have control of your html code you should tweak it for search engine optimization. It will help you get picked up by the web crawlers. SEO can be a little difficult for people. There are some sites that will check your site for you and offer sugestions on how to improve the content of your site and the html code. Like bolding headlines and many other things. They also offer how to improve your meta tags and descriptions as well.
