Add your number to the "Do Not Call" List.

Here's the link to add your number: https://www.donotcall.gov/

FAQ's are answered on this link: http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/alerts/alt107.shtm

You can go to the National Do Not Call Registry website to register your number on a government list that makes it against the law for those companies to call you. If they do, you can contact them or the FCC and complain, as long as you have some sort of information or proof of their call. Here is the link to register online: https://www.donotcall.gov/register/reg.aspx

Or you can register by calling from the phone of which number you wish to restrict by calling 1-888-382-1222.

if they are form the same company, piss them off

Sign up for the do-not-call list, and actually read the rules. If you're already on the do-not-call list and still getting calls, consider the following: if you've signed up with a company in the past, they can use that loophole to continue calling you. If they are researchers, not selling things, they do not count!

When banks and other places ask for your phone number, you don't have to tell them you have one. They won't kick you out. I didn't have a phone for quite awhile. I'm nocturnal, and had 2 calls today waking me up. I miss having no phone. :P

I went to the do not call and it didn't work . so now I say hold on a minute and do not go back to the phone until they have hung up. also if they ring and there is no one on the line they are testing to see the best time to ring you. press # button 6 or 7 times and this knocks you number out of the system. I have tried saying to them What is your name, then listen carefully "I WANT YOU TO TAKE THIS NUMBER OUT OF YOUR SYSTEM . I don't know which works but I rarely get these calls now
