No one will "notice" your website. Most websites are found by someone searching , say Google, for a particular product. So I might search for "bubble bath". Google comes up with 3.5 million sites. How are you going to get near the top? You are probably competing with major brands (like Lush). One way is to write original articles on your site that people will find and then maybe buy your product. Tricky. Maybe have a look at http://www.ds32.com but I think you are asking a tall order. |

some of it is down to content of the web page, some of it is down to tags - hidden behind the page, some of it is down to links from other SIMILAR sites to yours. It takes a lot of time and effort to get high up in the old google rankings!!
It really depends what your selling as to the best way of going about it.

This website is great for web advertising. It's a free targeted advertising (based on you selecting various categories you would like to be included in) and link exchange network. You put other websites text ads on your page and yours appears on others. And it really is 100% free, forever. While it's not something that guarantees traffic it also doesn't cost anything, so why not try it?
If you tell me a little more about what type of site it is I might be able to give you some more suggestions.

I found there website through an article that specifically listed they as a good website that sells high quality traffic. If you don't want to read it I'll make a short version of it here: "there is no way you can quickly attract traffic to your website unless you know some website owners whose websites have huge amounts of traffic and they write about you and/or put a link back to your site on the home page or on any other very visible area of their website."
You can search the Internet as much as you want and spend countless days looking for the answer. All you will find is about how to make your website more SEO friendly and techniques to get better rankings in pages - subscribe your website to directories, spam on blogs/forums, use viral emailing, link exchange (i listed only some of the techniques that don't necessary require you to pay money).
But I know that you meant more like "How can I attract traffic now?" not "How can people find me in Google if they search for [your keyword] in two years time".
