You can register your site to be searched by the Google engine, and you can also submit a site map so Google knows how to navigate around your page (you have to set up a google account for all this, but it's free). You should also use Google Analytics (also free) to determine who's coming to your site.
You should also submit your business on the Yahoo Directory and online Yellow Pages, as well as for Google Maps. These all increase visibility and links to your website (which help you appear higher in search engine organic searches).

search directories to provide them with goods and
services. In a sense, these search directories are a
very large Internet Yellow Pages.
Nevertheless, should your website or opening webpage
fail to contain "generic" keywords, then anyone using
such "generic" queries will not be able to discover
your website. Your domain name [URL] of your website,
in a sense, will be invisible, undiscoverable.
You may want to consider some simple algorithms which,
when observed and committed in designing of a website
with placement of various critical metatags that can
surely achieve a high search engine presence and
increase Internet traffic to your website. These
metatag strategies work well with published webpages
at Google and Yahoo.
Placement of Metatags:
A ranking or search order does take place with Google
and Yahoo and it begins with the "Title" metag which
should consist of no more than 65 characters separated
by commas. The "Title" should describe in generic
terms, the goods and services, followed by a location
from which the resource is located, i.e., city, state [San Antonio, Texas (?)].
The placement of a domain name which is not generic
within the "Title" is not appropriate, unless your
domain name is a major recognizable brand name.
The second metatag is the "Description" which is
usually 25-30 words to form a complete sentence which
best describes one's goods and services.
And the very last category - "Keywords" are also
somewhat limited to 15-16 words which can be plural
and compound in nature. Again, avoid multiple entries
which could be mistaken as "spamdexed entries" which
is defined as the loading, and submission of
repetitive words into a particular metatag category.
"Spamdexing" when discovered on a webpage and reported
to Google's spamreport.com can result in the
elimination of your website from their search
directory.

if you're just trying to get the name of your business to come up in the search engine results pages, you usually don't need to do anything. you can submit the site if you want to, but you generally don't need to anymore. SE's have gotten a lot better at finding things since the 90s.
1.) how long has your site been up? if it's only been up a week or two i wouldn't worry about it. be patient and eventually google and yahoo should find you.
2.) Does your website have your business' name in the content and title tags of your page? if not, make sure to add it. |

there are several submission programs available "submit wolf" being one, you can buy a program to do it ,or , with a bit of patience, you can go to the search engine and add your site manually. try google ,and click "advertising programs ",don't do a search.there is a link on advertising. good luck with the venture |

By far the best way to get near the top of the google rankings these days is not with Search Engine Optimisation, as the goalposts keep changing.
Are you ready for this?
Its with video! If you can make a short video about your service or product and upload it to say for example YouTube, you will hit the high levels of the google rankings in no time. Make sure that the video is only between 2 and 4 mins long and make sure that you put your link t your site in it. If you sign up FREE to YouTube there is loads of help on how to do all this.
