How do i place an add in a phone book?

i am trying to post an add in the tupelo ms phone book to advertise my plumbing business

Call an account executive (Sales) at the Phone Book company. There should be a page within the book that gives you phone numbers for advertising. Good luck.

Look in your Verizon yellow pages and there should be a number to call. There are other yellow page companies that compete with Verizon. I'm sure if you call 411 you can get all of the numbers. Yellow page advertising can be quite expensive. In my market in the Providence RI area a full page ad can easily exceed $100,000 for a year's directory. I'll guess that you are not interested in a full page, but probably a line listing or a small display ad. Verizon will also provide layout assistance. Also, in my market, I believe there are at least 14 different versions of the Verizon yellow pages. So when you make your purchase, be sure to only buy those directories that meet your needs. Yellow page advertising is also passive advertising, that is, people only turn there when they need something. You may want to consider something more active such as a regular occuring ad in your daily or weekly newspaper. Another inexpensive source of advertising is church bulletin notices. Most of the churches in my area publish a 4 page weekly bulletin with the back page reserved for advertisers. If you advertise in a church bulletin, you've got to be good, reliable, honest plumber, Right! How much should you spend on advertising? Usually it's about 3% to 5% of your annual gross. Also, in my market there is a local plumbing company that does an aboundance of advertising. They buy yellow pages, newspaper, radio and TV and more. Their name is GEM PLUMBING. You might want to drop them a note to see if they can give you any suggestions.

Call phone company & request to be transferred or the number of the yellow page dept... call them & set appointmtent. They will even design ad for you.

You need not have a business phone number anymore. Even a cell phone number is perfectly acceptable. Depending on your area, there may be many phone books. Call for a rep for each and get (a) usage and distribution figures, (b) demographics, (c) pricing. I worked for the Yellow Pages for 25 years and even wrote a book on how to place YP ads. The only way to place a business ad in the phone directory is if you have a business phone number registered with your business.

contact your local yellowpages, i'm sure you have one of those yellow books that are delivered to your home.
