Right. Usually you have to have a popular blog already to sell advertising on it. No one will pay to put an ad on a site that no one visits.

You may want to reconsider your conviction to do this since it would take an immense amount of time and effort to build up to that point. I'm sure there are thousands of bloggers who would like to be paid just as much as you do.

The most important things is to get traffic to your site.

There is alot of ways.

One of the ways will be sign up forum and chat there.

The rest of the tricks and techniques you have to learn from internet experts.

Remember not all blog site can use all the earn money software. you might get ban when or if you are making money half way. It will result to lost of money eventually.

First, find someone who cares enough about what you have to say to be willing to pay to hear it...

A lot of time it is through advertisers.

Bloggers such as Perez Hilton started out small....then more and more attention was given to his site. Advertisements are always seen all over his page.

But there are plenty of resources out there. I saw quite a few sites where you can post reviews/comments about restaurant experiences and they say they pay.

I haven't tried that yet, because they want you to submit one article for free as (per their words) it is part of the 'interview' process. I have the feeling they may only want free articles and that's it.

So be careful when running across some sites. The one mentioned above (and below as source) works fine.

unless it is a legitimate company that is the sponsor there is no pay for blogging. If you see some that say they do it is mostly scams that get you to give them your personal information so they can steal identities

Usually it is through enough people clicking on the ads on your blog that will pay you...such as AdSense, LinkReferral, WebCEO, etc.

I have a blog that is beginning to do quite well. I write about what I know, post it, have feedburner on it, and well there are lots of things I do for free to get good blog traffic.

As you know you don't get paid for blogging per se - unless someone pays you as a writer to write their blog. But let's just say that you're doing your own blog.

A blog is a jumping off point - just as writing a book is a jumping off point. Believe me there are lots of book authors out there who never see a dime from their books either. It's what you do with it after the writing that makes the big difference. I used to work with a mega-bestselling author - he sold millions of books and he told me, "Writing a book and getting it published is only the first 10%. Promoting your book is the other 90%."

So let's compare that with blogs. To make money with a blog you have to drive traffic to it. A lot of traffic. There are other Answers on Yahoo about how to do that. Drive a lot of traffic to your blog and eventually you'll be able to sell ad space. The bigger you become then you can start getting media coverage if you do public relations. As more and more people come you can increase the price of the ad space.

Another answerer mentioned Perez Hilton. Great example. But I'll tell you why. I don't think PH would have gotten nearly the attention if he didn't:

1. Piggyback on the coattails of Paris Hilton with his name.

2. Diss and slam everyone possible. People like that because "he says what a lot of people are thinking but are afraid to say."

3. Be totally outrageous with pink, orange and green hair and pretty profane in his language.

I believe that you can get a lot of leverage and grow a lot faster if you can do something that's totally outrageous. Perez Hilton probably makes more now on the "E" network and for guest appearances at events than he does with blogging. He took his blog and used it as a tool to become a celebrity.

But you have to be consistent. It has to make sense. Before the movie came out - Borat didn't go anywhere except as Borat. He was this totally outrageous, culturally and socially inept guy. Back in the day - Madonna was a great example of that. In fact she probably wrote the play book on how to use outrageousness as leverage to get more attention. Dennis Rodman, former NBA basketball star, did it the wrong way. It didn't make sense. It was incongruent and weird.

Do you have to be outrageous and embarrass your friends and family to make money with a blog? Probably not. Does it help? Yeah it does. A lot.
