I have my number private. It costs me an extra $1.25 per month, but YAY.
Plus, I am on the Do not call registry. You can put your land line and cell number in there and it takes 3 months to set in, but the calls will decrease.
If you want mail to stop as well..try the Direct Marketing Association's consumer website. They have do not e-mail and do not postal mail options too.
Also, read up on bank, online retailers, physical stores and anyone you do business with to see what their privacy rules are. And if they have opt-out options, take advantage of them.
Funny but sad story...one day my sis and I got a call and it was a marketeer and she asked for her. Finally fed up with the calls and the bs, I told him she is indisposed at the moment as she was busy using her dildo. I have to admit, the marketeer, kept her composure really well. |

I find an airhorn (like you sometimes hear at basketball games) works best on callers. For those who don't have the testicular fortitude to speak to you and instead nag you via email, show that you appreciate their efforts and send them a "trojan horse" as a gift. |

Call 888-382-1222. It is the national Do Not Call list. You need to call from the phone that you would like to prevent advertisers/telemarketers to call. Just confirm your number and in 31 days you should not receive any more calls. |

If I pick up the phone, I listen. It's not ALWAYS a bad thing. Sometimes they make a good offer. If I am not interested, I just say NO THANK YOU. Sometimes I just let the answer machine pick up. The junk mail can always be recycled. Be careful, I have almost thrown away what I thought was junk mail. Open all mail is a good policy. |
