You need a marketable skill or product.
If you have a skill someone wants to pay you for, you can make a living. I write for a living. As to becoming financially independent, that takes financial planning because no matter what you earn, if you aren't saving and investing a fair amount of it, you will NEVER be truly independent and never wealthy.
As to a product, you have to figure out how to market and sell it. EBay does work for many. The alternative is to have a good web business. I have a great internet business but just like any other business you have to let people know you are there.
This takes MONEY for advertising and something known as Search Engine Optimization, which you must either master or pay someone to do. I also have costs associated with software and hosting (I did all the content and coding myself). In my business, I sell a service but that means I have other costs to deliver the service. A year in, we are doing well but still just barely covering costs.
We created a business plan before we started, and are constantly revising it as we learn more and find new ways to refine the product and increase sales so we can be profitable.
IN other words, a year later we still aren't surviving off it. We both have other jobs.
Those websites that say "give us some money and we'll help you make a ton off the net" are mostly scams. Even when the products are good, you still have all the costs associated with getting people there. The only one making money off those are the companies selling the scam.

I'm assuming you don't have any background or business plan since you are looking for answers here. If that's the case, Network Marketing is your best hope.
Look for a company you can get into cheap, but not free. Learn how to promote it successfully by getting into a team that can offer you more support than others. Then as you build your skills (and it does take skills) you will be equipped to move on to something bigger. In the meantime your education will be funded, much like getting a full tuition scholorship for free. |
