It depends on what you're advertising. It can be very effective if you target the right group--for example, if you are trying to advertise to head of households, it may be best to advertise on cars parked at grocery stores. If you are trying to reach students, you should advertise at cars parked in high school parking lots. However, before doing any of this, you should make sure there is no local law against advertising this way. Also check for "No Soliciting" signs, and bear in mind that some people find this a nuisance and are therefore unlikely to respond to your advertising. |

I respond to them in the same way I respond to telemarketers - make a point NOT to patronize their business so they will stop littering up the parking lots. |

People tend to treat that kind of advertising the same way as junk mail. It goes into the trash asap. Personally, I've done just that.
You also need to keep in mind that some municipalities have bylaws against putting flyers on cars. If someone takes if off their car and throws it on the ground, and they aren't caught, YOU as the advertiser can be charged under the bylaw, and fined. |

I think if you are going to use flyers the best method would be actually to get them in a person's hand. More than not they won't even look at them, but atleast you know that person got it. There are also some places that let you put your flyers up for so long, which is even a better option. |
