I would say for one child $6 per hour and then add on $2 per hour per child after that.

I'd say depending on the character of your kids
If you usually have very well behaved and well mannered kids
$5 per hour
If you kids are usually good but sometimes get in trouble
$7 per hour
If your kids are unkind to babysitters and like to cause trouble
$9 per hour
It also depends on the time of day if it is during the day you should pay a dollar extra per hour cuz kids are more active in the day than at night
Also if it is on the weekend that would also be a good reason to pay a dollar extra per hour

It would have to depend on the experience of the babysitter, how many children, and if any other duties were required such as cooking or cleaning.

It depends on a lot of factors (ie, charge more for younger kids/infants; where you live, what's expected, etc.), but $6/hour is a good range. That's what I pay our babysitters (also: I always round up...in their favor!).
