BUSTED!!!! better luck next time | How realistic is it to invent something and sell it to a store if it is simple and you are creative? |

They will steal your idea. Make them sign a Non-Disclosure agreement before you try and sell it to them. If they don't want to sign, they can't be trusted. |

It happens, but make sure you know WHO to sell the idea to. |

unlikely to sell directly to stores.more likely to sell to product developer/company. liability concerns tend to arise with new products.throw in an unknown ( I assume ) company/developer and your probably going to have a hard time. mom and pop store might deal if it is unique and doesn't compete with any of their larger vendors' items. you need a patent before talking to any store or they wont deal either.
If you want to get started do some creative things to pitch to developers and try to create a demand for your products. you'll need a lot of ideas to make headway though. they all want that home run ,,,cant miss,,,next big thing. when you have that run to your attorney.in the mantime try to do a poor man's patent to get yourself familar with the process.
GOOD LUCK> |

Not very realistic at all. Big corporations have the lock on that kind of stuff, 99% of the time, at least. |

Hard work, selling and disappointment are the biggest parts of invention.
Its very possible if it is cost effective and makes good economic sense, most stores would buy it, as long as it fitted in with their current product line. |

Get the video (probably available at your Library) about Wal-mart. People pitch their product to Wal-mart.
Very interesting. |
