The best way to advertise is always free advertisement. Some good ways that have found are of course writing about your site in a helpful way. After all ,you created your site to help someone with some kind of a problem. That's why people start business's or invent new things. So with that being said.
1. Get signed up with a couple of forums that have to do with your product or site. Once in, get involved answer questions to help people out and in turn they will respond. Make sure you have your site in your sources so people can check you out and see if you are legit our not.
2.connect with other online companies or site owners that share the same ideas. And partner up with them.
3. Use your resources you have plenty of resources like Myspace, Twitter,Facebook, and many other sites to get your message out there.
its gonna be a little work. But if you are not paying for advertisement you are trading for advertisement.
4.Write some articles EzineArticles is a good place to start but make sure you are not trying to deliberately promote your site just help people out and leave you URL in your source box and this should do fine.
