My family and i keep getting annoyed by telemarketers contantly calling our house.

Register your phone number at www.donotcall.gov.
That will stop most telemarketing calls, except for the following:
- Non-profit organizations
- Politicians (that REALLY sucks, I know)
- Companies with whom you have an established business relationship. For example, if you have a Sears credit account, registering at donotcall.gov won't stop Sears from calling you. If you don't want them calling, you'll have to make the request yourself with Sears' marketing people.
Unscrupulous marketeers may try really hard to stretch the definition of "established business relationship," but if you tell them that you're registered with donotcall.gov, tell them you DON'T want to hear from them, and then threaten to rat them out if they keep calling, they'll quit.
