It is important that managers realize that their team will be a reflection of the leader. If a manager dresses in super-professional attire, the team will start to dress more professionally as well. If a manager freaks out about a failure, the team will withdraw and hesitate to ask for help when they are struggling.
Decide that you control your emotions, your emotions do not control you. You manage your team, they do not manage you. They are looking for a chink in your armor. They want a confident leader that they can follow. Take responsibility for your mistakes (and your team's mistakes). Publicly give them credit for successes. Discipline privately and praise publicly.
