If you are a site that is a good fit for you look at the bottom of the page for something that says advertise with us and their rate card may be posted or at least a contact page. You need a systematic approach to getting your link put on other websites and or banner.
For banners you can pay to have it placed on the website or you can look for category relevant sites and approach them directly.
Try local or national humane society websites and offer to place their link/banner on your site if they will do the same for you.
