The underlying assumption - that your sales team is not motivated - behind this question deserves some consideration.
Nobody can succeed in sales without being self-motivated. You're smart enough to know this, and so presumably you felt these folks were all self-starters when you hired them.
If they're not motivated, you may need to examine your hiring practices (as well as bring your firing practices up-to-date). Also, do you have things in place that are de-motivating to the sales team? Barriers to sales success?
Selling comes from the top. Are YOU motivated to work on this presentation? If not, it simply isn't realistic to expect your staff to be.
If you ARE motivated, consider articulating what's driving that motivation to your sales team and then see what happens.

•Delegate as much authority as you can to them.
•Empower them to take their own decisions.
•Give them information that allows them to judge whether they are being successful or not.
•Encourage them to take calculated risks - and don't castigate them if these sometimes fail.
•Get them working together as a team, but also have a few motivating competitions and targets.
•Keep the Accountants of their backs.
•Don't do their jobs for them, but coach them by showing them good practice.
•Make them feel important by showing how they fit in to corporate goals.
•Never, ever lie to them.
•Show them that you will support them in the hierarchy of your company if necessary.
•Listen to them all the time. |

You should be asking how do I properly manage a sales team.. there are only two ways.. fear and intimidation or manage by objective.. fear and intimidation is a my way or the highway style. It works if you can prove that your way is productive. You lay out how it is to be done and set sales goals. You must drive the sales force. Management by objective is to teach, encourage and support the sales force to reach the objective as a team with each sharing the success.. If you want to get a sales forces attention, teach them something that they can use to make more sales. You will loose people either way, but eventually you will build a good team.. just don't forget to reward them for their good works.. remember, a good sales team needs a strong leader. Tell your team that the best cure for an ulcer is a Pocket full of money.. show them how to fill their pockets and they will fill yours.. |

It depends on how much money if any you would like to spend. If it was me and I had some money I would offer a cash reward for the person(s) who makes the best presentation. If it is something like £500 then everyone will probably jump for it. It would be a great xmas extra!!! |

You need to know your focus, ask them What?Why/When?Whom?
and get some sketches or cut outs.Look at mags,papers,ads on television,or listen to commercial radio.Get them to list what they liked about the ads and what they hated , or simply felt no reaction.
If they are still dumb then they are probably in the wrong job! |

Hate sales people, order today and get 50% off etc. Presentation will be based on hype so you can not really motivate people in this profession. They are born or produced from a test tube :) and are all 100% liars. Change jobs, Estate agent? lol they are only 2nd most hated. |
