An affiliate mini site is promoted the same as a traditional website. You are on the right track with Squidoo and similar - the main idea with promotion is to "get the word out".
The absolute best way to get SUSTAINED traffic is with on-page SEO:
*do keyword research and select words/phrases that are relevant to the topic of your affiliate item(s)
*utilize your <title> and <descriptin> tags
*have readable content on the page, including your keywords. |

You were on the right track with squidoo, but you have to keep going. Article marketing, directory submissions, adding more content to your mini-site, etc. are all ways to build your traffic.
You can't expect to build a site and immediately see traffic. Search engines base at least part of their algorithm on backlinks to, or votes for, your site. You need to be constantly adding to those backlinks to improve your rankings in the search engines, and get increased traffic.
Blackhat techniques can get you tons of untargeted traffic in the short term, but that traffic may not be buyers, and in the long run, you may get your mini-site banned from the search engines. |
