Bobo | How would I get people to advertise on bux2x.890m.com? |
So I opened this new PTC Bux2x.890m.com and I'm getting members but I don't know how long I'll be able to keep it up. I need advertisers for it but I don't know how I would convince someone to pay for an ad space. Suggestions and site reccomendations welcome. |

Start with advertisers who pay by click - Google Adsense is a big advertiser that does just that. You can sign up for free, and once you're accepted, you will have many different ad formats to choose from. AdBrite is another advertiser that pays by click and by page view. These two advertising programs do not have a minimum monthly page view or unique visitor requirement, so you can sign up now.
Once you've established decent traffic, you can work with bigger advertising agencies, such as ValueClick or Burst Media. These agencies DO have a minimum monthly page view or unique visitor requirement - ValueClick has the absolute lowest minimum I've seen, only 3,000 page views a month to be accepted.
Agencies are the way to go because they find the advertisers for you, and handle everything except for displaying the adverts. All you need to do is add their code to your website, and you'll start earning revenue.
You can also try and deal with advertisers one-on-one, but I'll tell you from experience, it can be a daunting task, especially for someone who doesn't know what they're doing. I wrote my own script to work with advertisers who pay me directly for ad space, to rotate ads based on the amount of views each advertiser paid for. The advertiser can also keep track of how many views and clicks they've had, and have left before their campaign expires. I don't know if something similar is available on the web, but advertisers are going to want to know these stats when they buy space from you.
The only success I had with getting advertisers to come to me directly was simply by adding a small link under my adverts that read "Advertise Your Site Here." Advertisers would contact me, tell me what they were looking for and give me their price range, and I'd tell them what I could do for them. I've never actually hunted down an advertiser myself.
It seems tough when you first start out, but once you learn the ropes, there is some serious money to be made if you have a popular website! |
