How would you sell yourself to a customer?

As any good salesperson knows, it is definitely about selling yourself first. While it is true that you must believe in your products and know them well, people buy on trust and if that trust is not established first and foremost, then chances are the sale will go south with your raport.

It is essential to be very confident in yourself and be comfortable with your prospective customer and your surroundings.

Let them see that not only are you confident in yourself but also in your products. Let them know that you are a user of the products. After all, how can you ask someone to be confident in a product that you are not confident enough in to use yourself?

Be professional and listen to what the customer wants or needs. It is not just about the sale. It is about customer service. And the most important part of customer service is to let the customer know that you are concerned about their wants and needs.

They could care less how bad YOU need to sell a product. What they want to know is what you can do for them! If they think you are just out for the sell then they are less likely to trust that you are concerned for their satisfaction. The most secure way to insure repeat customers is to have satisfied customers.

If you are confident and let them know that you have their wants and needs at heart then they are more likely to trust you with their purchases. Then, follow through with integrity and honesty after the sell! Just make it all about the people, not the sell and all will go fine!

#1 true confidence/eye contact/SMILE
#2 well-spoken (know your info, use correct vocab, grammar, etc.) and competent
#3 adjust to their style quickly (if they're softer spoken, do the same; if they're more business-like, adjust; friendly, then small talk more, etc.)

I have a sales job for a living and I am rather accomplished with it. These are the very very basics that DON'T come easily to everyone. Yes, look professional, know the script, etc., but that anyone can do. The above sets you apart from others.

Depends on what the customer is looking for???? Seriously you don't sell yourself you are selling the product of the company and you need to know the product well to sell it. The customer is to leave the place with good memories of the company and yourself.
