Friends? I have no previous work experience. I need three references- so far I've thought to list my teacher and neighbor but have no idea if a peer would be suitable for a reference.

I would recommend not put a friend down as a reference unless that friend works for the place where you are applying.
Your best references would be teachers, school counselors, and neighbors. If you've done volunteer work in the past, put a contact from that organization down as a reference. If you belong to any clubs or churches, put the leaders or ministers down as a reference.
I would also recommend that you ask the people if you can use them as a reference before you put them down on applications. You want to make sure that they are willing to be used as a reference, and that they will say nice things about you. |

I would say adults only, maybe some relatives with different last names, relatives that are well to do. **Never put down their relationship, just use associate and notify them that you are using them as references. |

teachers and neighbors that like you. what the job is looking for is someone that can vouch for your character. try to put people on that you've known for awhile, cause one question is almost always how long have you known him? |

I would not list a peer. I think a teacher is a good idea. Also if you have ever volunteered for anything or a member of a club, sports etc. Someone that you have worked with in one of those situations is ideal. This will show that you can work with others and if you show up on time for games, babysitting etc, it is as good as work experience. |

I'd go with adults whose credibility is solid. If you used your friends, your prospective employer wouldn't think they were old enough to decide. Teachers, faculty, coaches, community leaders, church if you go to one, etc. |
