Ask yourself this....why is it that all the "fake" products come out of China....imitation Rolexes, Gucci handbags, and on and on...
...its because China openly and admitedly does not recognize copyright and patent ownership.
This means, that if you manufacture your product in China....You can expect your product to be showing up soon with any number of competitors brand on it.
...and unless you have the resources to go big time....someone else always does....and always will.
So...its a trade off...potentially cheaper production....but the whole world is going to have access to your invention |

No, but have fun trying to guard your patents if it turns out to be a hot selling item. Unless you have infrastructure there to watch/check closely, your invention will be pirated all over.
** Be sure to price that in and then see if it's really cost effective.

No but don't expect it to cost you very little. The dollar is next to worthless so you aren't going to like the exchange rates.
Second you should look into Vietnam. They are currently the flavor of the month. China is becoming more expensive. |

If it's not unpatriotic, is it immoral given the atrocious human rights record of China?
Could you produce some in China and some in US or other country with a better human rights track record? Perhaps you could market those from the US or other country at a higher price and as coming from a certified manufacturer and nation with good rights record?
Is there a ranking of Chinese manufacturers in terms of their business practices, e.g. working conditions, recalls, etc.? If there is, you could indicate that you selected a highly rated Chinese manufacturer in your materials. |

People need to realize that in order to COMPETE, you have to find ways to minimize your costs/overhead. Since the cost of everything in this country dwarfs everyother country...companies have to go overseas. |

Nope. It's the spirit of capitalism.
What I do think is unpatriotic is our own policies that encourage this behavior. But, it is cheaper to manufacture overseas, and that's that. |
