I'm introducing a new coffee with a strong aroma in my cafe. Can the observation method be used to determine

the consumer reaction to this coffee prior to introduction??If so,which observation method should be used?

As a cafe owner myself its a good idea to give samples to your customers mainly with your regulars that way you will get an honest opinion on what they think of the coffee. My personal opinion is a strong aroma is good as long as its not too overpowering, which sometimes can cause a coffe to be too bitter or heavy.

It possible but not easy.

For food, observation is one of the best methods of judging a product.
When I was a young brand manager assistant I learn a lot about my product and competition observing how the buyers deal with the products in the supermarket shelves.

In your case, there would be facial expressions of surprise, pleasure, curiosity or distaste after testing it?

Does the subject try again or continue drinking?

Do they ask about the coffee? etc.

However, is a bit difficult because there are some conditions to accomplish:

- Subject should know in advance that is a different taste. He/she cannot be taken by surprise or cheated..

- Subject should not know that is being observed. Many will be nice to you in their answer or reaction, but will never buy it .

- Observer or analist must be trained in body language. Read a book about it at least.

I am not sure how to accomplish these conditions in your shop because I do not know it. (do not worry, I am not going for a free coffee!)

Perhaps if you leave a dispenser with the new coffee with a sign saying "new taste - try it free" and you observe them or film them it would work.

I am sure that you will learn a lot. It would be difficult to translate the results in numbers. It would be a qualitative impression.

You could complement the observation with two direct questions: "did you like it?", " why?", why not? , etc. but only after they have taste it and you have observed them

The magic is on the products it selft... if the product already on your hand... what is observation for? Just sell the product as much as you can!!! How to sell the good product? Make a good advertisement, I mean advertisement that sell!!!

Composting
Spent coffee grounds are used as fertilizer in gardens for their high nitrogen content. Some coffee companies and coffee shops, including Starbucks, give their used coffee grounds to gardeners for this purpose. Religions
Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, according to their religious beliefs, should not consume coffee. Coffee as a stimulant

Most importantly for many drinkers, the level of dopamine in the brain increases.

Social aspects of coffee
Coffee plays an important role in many societies throughout the world today. From the coffeehouses of the 16th century, to the modern day cafÃ©s, coffee has had a profound impact on the lifestyles of people from all walks of life. When it first appeared in Africa and Yemen, it was commonly used as a type of religious intoxicant. This usage in religious rites among the Sufi branch of Islam led to it being put on trial in Mecca for being a "heretic" substance much as wine was. It was briefly repressed at this point, and was later part of a larger ban in Ottoman Turkey under an edict that led to the death of thousands of people. Its early association in Europe with rebellious political activities led to its banning in England, among other places.
In India the Indian Coffee Houses became an icon of the worker's struggle. This restaurant chain is now owned by the workers of ICHs, as a result of the struggle performed by the thrown-out workers from the Coffee Houses of Coffee Board. This struggle was led by famed Communist leader of India A. K. Gopalan. Thus the ICHs became the meeting places of the progressive-minded in India later.

the best thing to do is to give out samples to your customers and if they like the coffee they should recommend it to other people they know, then your coffee will go around your area and your cafe will get much more customers.
