This is the version I grew up with. However, it seems there are many versions of this. I guess none of them are right or wrong, just adaptations of the original. I don't the original, but It is my understanding that this originally was a racist rhyme. Just substitute tiger with the common derogatory term used to describe African Americans. If true (and I believe it is) this is pretty pathetic if you ask me. |
