If you are needing traffic right now, look at doing an email broadcast and or PPC. I don't know what your budget is, but I would do more then one form of online advertising to drive traffic to your site. SEO is great, but it takes months for you to be picked up by the search engines.
Mass emailing or an email broadcast, can reach a lot of people all at once. Such as 1,000,000 email addresses that fit your demographic. If you only do it once, don't expect any results or very little. There are two many variabless that go into emailing.
1. Is it going out at the right time?
2. Are people opening your email? That is if they like your subject line.
3. Are they clicking on your email and going to your site? That is if people like your email, and are interested in your product. If you aren't getting people to your site, then they don't like your email.
4. Are they buying or signing up on your site? If you are getting traffic to the site, but no one is buying, then you need to take a look at your website.
Emailing needs to be done over and over again to get a qualified response. Think about the emails that you get over and over again, and ones you actually read and go to their sites. What made them different and can you do the same thing?
PPC or PayPer Click is good for targeting people who are actively looking for your product. You can setup a daily budget and pay as you go without signing a contract or anything like that.
