I think your off to a good start. You just need to give your church a bit more time. Don't give up. Ask your church secretary for help. (Church secretaries are great resources. They usually know everything!) Sometimes your church secretary can give you a lead. Also, talk with your pastor/minister/priest.
Another idea for the babysitting route: ask if the church needs help in the nursery. Then, as you get a great reputation as a great babysitter, church families will probably ask you to take care of their kids. It is also a great way to make connections and get the word around that you are available to babysit, pet sit, mow lawns, help with odd jobs. I'm sure there is someone in your congregation that needs help. Remember, keep your rates reasonable. Bless you for wanting to work and help others, too. Good Luck. |

Mow grass, baby-sit, clean the house, think of an odd ball buisness you can do like a lemonade stand or something. You won't get a real job til your 16 or if you have a work permit at 15.

If you have anyone in your neighborhood who has trouble with mobility, you could go over and offer to mow their lawn (as long as thats ok with your parents and you know how to do it)....in the winter you could shovel snow. Basically get word of mouth going, stop by houses in your neighborhood of people you know with kids and offer to babysit. It also helps if you get CPR/First Aid certified, becuase it shows that you could handle emergency situations.
Besides that, if you don't need the job I would reccomend waiting untill you are 16 to get one. You will be working the rest of your life, so take the time now to just sit back and enjoy your summer! |

spread your advertising, put fliers in neighbors mail boxes, and the neighbor hoods around you, maybe hang some at kinder-gardens or grade school, ask for permission from the institution first though, you can ask your parents to hand out some at work or at least post one on their bulletin board.

Try putting up some flyers at other places, and if you've baby-sat before, get some references. You might even ask them if you can put their number on your flyer as a reference (but make sure you ask!!).
Also, you could try doing odd jobs, yardwork, garden work, etc. If you live in a rural area, ask a local farmer if they need any help caring for small livestock, etc.

Put a flyer in all of your neighbors, who have kids and or pet, mailboxes for baby/pet sitting. Make sure that your parents read the flyer before you post them. Also, post one at the local market, kids day camp and library.
Let your parents screen the callers before you agree to babysit. As well as have your parents go to the peoples houses to check them out. No need to be foolish while trying to make a couple of dollars. |

Check around the neighborhood with people you know. Doing stuff like mowing/walking dogs or something you can do for a neighbor or friend can get you some chump change. |
