I am a salesperson.I searching for better ways to market a product locally.?
I have tried to market my products by faxing brochures to customers whom I do not know.I have also tried to market by using email. The response is not good.Cold calling or door knocking is not for me.Is there a better way to do it to get good & fast result?Should I just continue to do faxing everyday until someone call up for sales enquiry? Can anyone give sincere advise or good solution?Thank you.
First thing, cease and desist the faxing. There is a law out now that makes fax spamming illegal. If they start complaining and the DA starts to investigate, you could be facing up to a $1000 fine for each occurrence reported.
And the CAN-SPAM laws disallow the email spamming.
Without knowing what your product is - it's hard to specifically offer advice on what you need to do to sell it.
You say cold calling and door to door is not for you - have you thought about hiring some salespeople on contract to do that?
The only other way would be to do direct mailing (Large full color postcard) or radio/TV advertising.
Drop me a line with what you are selling - maybe I can offer more specific ideas.

Build a web site that focuses on your product and its benefits and send targeted regional traffic to the site using Google AdWords and / or Yahoo Search Marketing. This will allow people in your area that are searching for your product or service to find you.
Although the web is emerging as a means of developing leads and ultimately sales, the all time "best friend" of the sales person, I have to say, is still the telephone. As a seasoned sales person you need to "own the phone" and be able to show up in any city and sell anything to anyone at any time by picking up the phone and calling enough people until you statistically make your numbers. Sales people who master selling by phone are some of the highest paid people in business.

Wish you had mentioned the product...anyway here's what to do...
Find out WHO needs the product that you are selling...
Find out WHERE they hang out...post flyers there or near there...
Meet with many of them...Use guerilla marketing...word of mouth.
Stop wasting money and energy on EVERYONE...Continue sending faxes and packages etc....but send ONLY to people who are pre-qualified prospects for what you offer...
Here's another idea...
Offer the product free as a trial first, then check back to see whether they liked it about a week later...after that, visit them again with another free but this time you say, this one's free as well, if you place your first order today.
Build on that.
