There are 2 ways to go about it: use a third party advertising service which will do all the work of finding advertisers and managing ads for you; and do the selling yourself.

With a 3rd party ad network, the downside is that you don't get to keep all of the earnings as you'll share it with the ad agency, but frees you up from the hard task of finding advertisers, serving the ads, enabling real time statistics monitoring, auditing the pageviews/clicks, etc.

1. Join an advertising network. Advertising networks are organizations that aggregate Web sites that offer advertising space, and sell banner ads (and other advertising options) across them. Traffic requirement is often a minimum of 5,000 monthly impressions, although many do not accept sites hosted by free page services.

Now-a-days, people don't really do this anymore.

Today, advertisers go to "big names" like AdWords and Yahoo!'s equivalent to advertise.

AdEngage DOES sell advertising space week by week on your website, so I'd suggest that you sign up with them, and AdSense.
